We went to Napa yesterday!!!

The day was so beautiful!!! After crazy hot 90 degree weather last weekend, we're in the 50's now. (I'm especially happy about this for all the firefighters and people who are in harms way with the SoCal fires.)
So we decided to go to Napa and it was perfect! If any of you plan on going, you must stop by Cakebread Wineries. We've had their wine before when we got engaged, and we figured to visit the place. The tours are free and by appointment only, but they have tastings as well. The property is so pretty. I told FH that if something changes and we decide to have the wedding in CA instead of NY, this is the place to do it! The tour guide was very informative but in a very casual way. The wines are amazing, especially the Savion Blanc. I wish we had planned on staying the whole day, but FH made reservations for dinner in Monterey. (what a crazy drive all over CA!) Next time I want to stay up there over night and really enjoy all that the area has to offer.

I just was there last weekend for our 1st wedding anniversary. It was very nice (although I expected it to be prettier - the vineyards were gorgeous but I stayed in downtown Napa and wasn''t very nice and didn''t like the higway driving - I expected a prettier road to drive up on).

We went for 2 days and toured about 9-10 vineyards. Cakebread was one our list but didn''t get to go. The first day we didn''t have enough time to go to Cakebread and the second day we took a tour shuttle - which didn''t go there. I hear they offer the best tour (DH''s co-worker told him that!).

It was a fun trip but it was like 95+ and I didn''t have the appropriate clothes with me - so it was a little uncomfortable...wish I had sandals and shorts!
