is this something people don't do? I have a coworker who told me she's going out to buy a new dress b/c her original dress is black and she can't wear it to a day time wedding? I told her she's nuts!

She is nuts.... unless she just wants an excuse the buy a new dress.... I think black to a wedding - regardless of the time of day - is fine.

black is fine for a daytime wedding... as long as it's not a sparkly velvet gown or something. however, a bunch of my girlfriends wore pastel colors and they looked beautiful!! (others wore black, black/white, black/fuschia, etc)
I wore black to the wedding we went to on Sunday...and so did other guests. At our daytime wedding we had guests wearing black too. I don't think that's true (maybe it was a long time ago when milk was still delivered to the house ).

she's nuts! i had a sunday daytime wedding, and women wore black. it's fine, and i wouldn't expect anyone to buy a new dress just because it's an afternoon wedding. that's just silly!

my friend actually said the same thing - that she and her husband had to go and buy new outfits for our wedding b/c she'd never been to a day wedding. I told her she was a moron and it's still a WEDDING and to wear what she'd normally wear.

She's nuts. I only wear black dresses to weddings, day or night. I'm not a color fan for myself.

i wouldn't wear a black LONG dress to a day wedding, but a shorter black cocktail dress is 100% fine.

Well I wouldn't wear a black dress to any wedding. So I'd get a new dress. But I wouldn't say she HAS to. It's just preference
