wearing white to a wedding (swear its a new?)

So I KNOW KNOW we are not supposed to wear white to weddings generally but if I am going to a casual wedding for two men where it says garden party attire requested can I wear white then? or do you think it is still a taboo?

I would think in that case it would be ok since men traditionally don't wear the white dress and you certainly won't be taking any attention away from the grooms.

ooooo, this really is a new one!!!!! My first instinct would be go for it, but maybe it depends on the couple? Is one of them going to wear white? Are they big etiquette type people?

Good question!

I think if you have an inkling of a doubt, you shouldnt do it. But thats just me

hmmm good question, well there is no bride so no wearing white like the bride in this situation. Do you know either one well? if so i would just ask them first just in case.

Good question, let us know if you ask them or find any info

yeah one of them is one of my best friends . I would totally ask him but the wedding's this wknd and I wanted to pack. I guess I can just bring two dresses and ask him then. my guess is he won't care AT ALL but you never know!

I say no white regardless. A friend wore an ivory white to another friend's wedding and everyone still talks about it. JMO.

alright . I think I won't wear it just in case. . I think you all are right. . better safe than sorry.. and I guess everyone has a right to be in their white wedding glory!!

As I read this I envisioned a staff member or someone unfamiliar with the couple thinking you might be the bride, since there won't be the traditional girl in white at this wedding... hmmm maybe just avoid it to be safe

ahhh very good point, better off not wearing white.

Plus im sure they want everyone to treat it like a regular wedding so i would do a different color.

Have fun and post pics

i say go for it... unless one of them is going to be wearing white. if you're close to one of them... i'd just ask to see if it were ok.
