After they are all renting tuxes/buying gowns and I'm sure giving gifts for showers/wedding/engagement as well as possibly throwing a shower and bachelor party, they have probably already laid out quite a bit of money. Since you and your Mom thought up the idea, it might be nice to have it as your own gift to them and pay yourselves. Especially since you can't get in touch with these people before you book it to see if they are in a postion to contribute, I think it might be a bit rude to put them on the spot. Sounds like your heart is in the right place though.
