Im sitting here bored waiting for my sonogram in pain ... so why not post on LIW
Post your favorite wedding tip/ advice you received since you been engaged
There is no such thing as the perfect wedding. Things will go wrong. People will be late. Mistakes will happen. Everything will not go as planned. Dont sweat the small stuff. You should have happy memories of your wedding day. Dont let small details /mishaps over shadow or cloud the memories of joy and love.

Re: Wedding Advice ..................
The best advice I received was to make sure FH and I take time out for ourselves especially during the planning stages. We try to go out once a week just the two of us and just enjoy each others company without any talk of the wedding.

Don't sweat the small stuff. It's not important that you have the right invitations, or the perfect shoes, or the best looking cake. All that matters is that moment when your priest/pastor/rabbi/whoever tells you two to look at each other and pronounces you for the first time as husband and wife.

Re: Wedding Advice ..................
Relax on the day of the wedding. Everything will have been taken care of, and anything that goes wrong you can't help, so let someone else handle it, relax and enjoy your day. Assign people to take care of things (i.e. stay on top of the matre'd, periodically collect & put envelopes in a safe place, etc.) to help with this.

I have 2....
Dont sweat the small things. I am overly anal and a control freak which is why i havent asked for any help from anyone with planning this wedding. Someone told me that i will drive myself crazy and not enjoy this time if i dont let the little things go
I was also told from the very begining not the let the wedding overtake our lives. We have to find time for eachother which is so hard with work, school and children. Then on top of that trying to plan this event.

Re: Wedding Advice ..................
the best advice that i got was:
make sure you select only the people you truly care about and adore and wish to see again in the future for your wedding party... no point in making it even, just for the sake of formality, cause you're the one thats going to live with your wedding pictures from this pt fwd, not them.

My brother's advice to my older sister and again to me is to not go from table to table greeting everyone. It takes so long, and you see everyone again at the end during the gifts and favors. It's a party, I plan on seeing everyone on the dance floor.

Re: Wedding Advice ..................
To take 5 minutes at the wedding for me and hubby to step aside and just have a moment together to take it all in. Step out of the room - go some place just the 2 of us and remember why we were there.

when everyone is eating dinner, jsut look out and take a moment for it all to sink in. step back and just watch take in that moment. everyone is here for you two, and you are now married to your best friend.

this was the same advice i received, and i think it is great. i'm sure a lot of brides and grooms get so caught up that they don't take a minute to just step back, breath and enjoy each other. i plan on doing this, if nothing else that day.

Re: Wedding Advice ..................
someone told me that Idont have to please everyone
If i dont want a big bridal party then i dont have to have one
If i want my bridesmaids to hold lanterns instead of flowers it's my choice
There is no such thing as 'wrong' when it comes to your wedding, as long as you and your FH are happy, then that is all that matters.
When you look back the day should reflect me and my FH

Re: Wedding Advice ..................
I have a few that i like that i have gotten...
Don't worry about the weather you cannot control it.
Everyone has an opinion, ignore the opinions you don't like!
Don't spend your life savings on your wedding.
Savor every moment of planning and the day, it all goes so fast!
