Wedding album.. what did u wish you knew .. do and don'ts?

Hi girls,
for all those girls who picked or picking wedding albums...
what are the things you wish knew prior ordering an album
what are things you supposed to do and didn't ...
what are do and dont's
how much input do u get on design of albums etc..
how many pictures should u give photog
Basically we have to think about it after we got our proofs back but have no idea where to start..
Helllllp!!!

i haven't gotten to this stage yet, but i would think that you would have some say in the way your album flows. talk to your photograpy company and see what they say. I already know that we are going to go over our allotted number of pictures we paid for.

Def not up to here yet but after dating a photog for 7 years and having a background in design, here are my thoughts.

You want to tell a story. The pictures you choose should flow but not look exactly the same, unless its a spread and on one side is the close up of you and across the page is the close up of him. If you're doing photos of you two together it may be better to do a close up and then maybe a candid, or something from a distance. The photographers are great at using photos for the background of the pages and then to add texture to the page. They can lighten the opacity, and do all sorts of creative things. I think a nice balance of black and white photos is important too.

Talk to your photographer or look through their books to get some ideas.

My wedding is still a while away but I am in the middle of picking out B pics to go in an album with my photog and this is my advice...

Pick the picture you like the best but I would be open to suggestion from your photographer. This is their profession and if you do trust them and believe in their vision then they probably know the best way to display your pictures, as far as layout. But def make sure the pics you like the best are going to be included.
