Wedding Anxiety

make a list, and try to accomplish one thing on your list a week......with major vendors almost done thats a big accomplishment. Today is October 1st....plan to have the florist done by the end of the month and then pick a new task.

it definately can be overwhelming, and there is a lot to do, but if you dont lay out a plan those weeks will just keep flying by....we've all been there....HTH

Aww! Its OK.... just take one thing at a time and you should be fine!

I'm feeling really anxious this week and I can't seem to get rid of this feeling. The weeks are flying by and between work/school/family functions I can't seem to get things done. All we have for major venders left is the florist--we book RH, Photog & video, and Band. And I have my dress. But besides that we haven't done anything else and everything keeps flying through my head and I feel so overwhelmed.

I am feeling the same way as you! I am a May bride also and also have major vendors booked other than my florist. All we have is RH, Band, Photo, Video and Limo. That's it. I am starting to worry about getting BM dresses and the florist book soon but I can't find the time! I also haven't done any of the smaller stuff. Once October is over I hope to have more time to tackle stuff.

Maybe we need a game plan!

I defintely understand anxiety. FH and I have all of the major vendors booked...yet we still don't have officaints. I am a stress horse. Everything gets to me.

I agree the best thing is to make a list and only look at one item at a time.

Hope things calm down a little for you

i think i was more anxious at 8 months than i am now at 2 months......but i have to say this week has been pretty stressful i really need to get my invites out - its Oct 1 and my RSVP date is Nov 1 and i didnt send them out yet

Don't worry I don't have bridesmaid dresses either. I have been told by two places to have them ordered by November 1st. I figure it gives me at least another month. My goal is to have them ordered by November 15th.

you'll be fine, and things somehow always get done. You always see brides get anxious about this, but have you ever heard of one not book a vendor or not getting something major done? the closer you get the more you get in plan mode and thats how things get accomplished.

Bm dresses, its easy to freak out when you see everybody on here getting them 6-9 months before the wedding but please dont freak out. I went to RK bridal and got my bm dresses in february for my may wedding. I was a bm in my friends wedding in sept, we ordered around may and they came in July. On their site they say it never takes longer than 3 months bc they get it directly from the manufacturer. It only takes longer when shops use a 3rd person and dont buy directly. So there are places you can get it quick.

Nicole-with the invites stop worrying. My invites went out in april for my may wedding. Everybody kept saying 'OMG that is so late youre going to have problems' many girls on LIW felt this way since they send them out 3 months ahead of time. Let me say that i got back more responses than those who sent before me, also for may weddings. Since they didnt have MONTHS to rsvp they did it as soon as they got them. Within 2-3 weeks i had 200 responses back. So it worked out great, even though i freaked out the same way. People didnt look at my invite and think 'oh i have time' and put it in a drawer and then forget.

I hate to say it but sometimes the boards can freak you out more. THere are some things that are fine if you dont do it a year before or 6 months before lol. I understand major vendors to book when you have your heart set on them. BUt many other things dont have to be far in advance.

aww..its totally normal to feel like that with how expensive everything is and just the stress of it all but just remember its all worth it in the end and try ot relax..hope u feel better

I'm at the same exact stage. I need to do the BM dresses but it is impossible to get them all together. I'm thinking of just having one pick something out and emailing a pic to everyone and let that be that. I'm running out of time i feel.

Also, I started looking for a hair/Makeup person and I am totally blown away at how expensive they are. I always saw posts on here and just assumed everyone was using a very high priced person but I was so wrong...that is totally the going rate!!

dont worry you still have time .. just take it one day at a time ... make a checklist and everyday or week try to check something off the list

I think sometimes I read these boards too much and it get's me nervous. I got engaged a while ago (feb) and i guess I just feel like I should have more done by now. But then again a co-worker of mine is planning a June wedding and hasn't booked a thing!!

But don't get me wrong these boards are the best thing that happened to me since planning this wedding, I've gotten great ideas, advice, and support and I couldn't have asked for more!

Totally feel the same way! I have the same things done and am marrying a month before you. I don't have a dress yet. Need to find an officiant...the list is endless....

I am having anxiety about the wedding list. It seems to be growing when we have a max on our room of 240. I woke up at 4:00 AM stressing about. I have 8 more months of stress. aghhhhhhhh your not alone.
