Re: wedding at LI Marriot
I ahve been there once, they served alcohol to a minor at my cousins wedding and the police arrived in the middle of the wedding reception, needless to say it halted the dancing for a while,, they wanted to shut down the whole affair.....

hi- i had all my guest stay at the LI Marriott a few weeks ago.. it is a great hotel and getting married there would be so convenient for everyone. i didnt see the ballroom, but the food in the restaurants is amazing- and we had my brunch at the chardony room... was terrific and beautiful- i think that is where your coctail hour would be..

I didnt go to a wedding there, but a girl I know got married there. You actually get a free honeymoon to Hawaii if you have your wedding there and spend over a certain amount. You accumulate points and a wedding gives you enough points for at least a week Hawaiian honeymoon--airfare and hotel stay. I didnt like the location of the Marriott in Uniondale, but a free honeymoon certainly is nice.

The Location is something that does bother me as well, but I may have a lot of out of town guests from Ireland and elsewhere so conveinence of being in a hotel definately helps. Free Honeymoon sounds wonderful !! I will definately ask about that :)

I dont know anything about weddings at the Marriot. But if you're looking for hotels, Ive heard good things about the Hyatt Windwatch in Hauppauge.

Oh and I just remembered that the girl I know said how unbelievably attentive and helpful they were throughout her planning process at the Marriott. They told her they pride themselves on service and food since they dont have the best location. I saw this girl the day before her wedding(at the nail salon getting her nails done for the wedding)so I never talked to her after the wedding. But she was definately happy with the service there up until that point. When she told me about the free honeymoon I was shocked. Harrison house has really nice accommodations for staying over too and they offer a free room for the bride and groom on the wedding night and the room is beautiful. Good Luck!!
