Wedding Band-Designers

I found a beautiful wedding band with diamonds at a jewelers store and almost died when I heard the price... $2500, now, this is not really too much but since we are paying for alot of the wedding ourselves, we dont have it. Does anyone know of a jeweler that I can go to who might be able to make the ring for less? I know rings are marked up but I dont know how much this ring is worth. Someone told me jewelry is marked up 100-200%! I want to offer the guy less but how much? I dont want to say $1300 and seem like a joke. What do you think?

try Italian Jewlers in Tri county flea market. my Fi and I went pricing wedding bands for our October wedding, and in NYC it would cost us $1300 for a band I fell in love with, when I went to Tri county for prices, Italian jewlers said they can do the exact ring( i had a picture) and it will take 10 days! and the price he gave us is $750. so its a big difference for the same quality! So I'm real excited, and I'll let you know how it turns out!

I would go to the Diamond District in the city. I am sure that they must have something in your price and have it custom made.

We used a jeweler on 47th Street. I showed them a ring and they made an exact copy for me. The original one was white gold and 50% off the original price at a retail store. The one they made for me is platinum and it cost only $75 more than the original`s sale price so yes, as usual, the mark up is huge in retail. I love Scott Kay jewelry but I couldn`t justify the price. The place we used is called DP Diamond Palace and their # is 212-944-8500. If you go, ask for Laura. My husband also purchased my engagement ring from them and got a really nice deal on a very beautiful ring. Good luck.

Thank you! I will look into them! I am all over the board with what I want- from matching to my engagement ring to a totally seperate ring. My ring is unusual so it it very hard to match but hopefully now I can find one to match. Thank you again!!
