Wedding Band Dilemma

Wedding Band Dilemma

I posted my wedding band a couple weeks ago-- I bought it in Philly and my fingers must have been ginormous that day cause every time I put it on it is WAY too big. It was an estate piece so it was as is- in the size in came in.. I had such a hard time finding somethign I liked- I overlooked that it was a little too big and well, am just plain stupid.

I went to a jeweler yesteday (recco'd by the Philly jeweler)- and they can make the ring smaller on the inside with wires or something- but, it is not helping me- cause it is still too big all the way around and is uncomfortable for me to wear. I mean, I can't be annoyed to wear my wedding ring!!

So, the jeweler's contract says that returns are good for store credit only.. So, the jeweler is in Philly- so it is a pain, and they did not have any other things that I really liked.. if it was on quick trip there fine- but, I am not sure they would even have what I am looking for.

So, I am thinking I will try to sell on ebay or something- has anyone done this- how do you do in terms of prices, etc. Any other suggestions would be great!

i'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble with the wedding band you chose so perfectly suited for yourself. you know what - during the winter season your hand size tends to shrink a little. that could be one of the problems...? or bring it back to your jeweler and have them install balls in the inside of your band. my SIL installed balls in the inside of her e-ring and she's very comfortable with it.
what is the difference between the wires and the balls? is one more effective than the other?
i've never sold a ring online before but if you really want just go into ebay and do a search on wedding rings and understnad their policy. hope all works out for you.

I had sorta like wires.. It's a piece of metal that was wraped from one side to the other and the stretched part reduced the ring size.

Did this on my HS ring.

Winter DEFINATELY affects the rings. Mine rings now fits on my forefinger!!

My wedding band is behind my e-ring so it's not that much trouble if it's lose.

I'd try the balls or try reducing the size?

Good Luck!

thanks-- the balls just aren't going to do it-- I need the ring itself to be smaller-- the 'crown' of it is just too big for my hand..

How about before selling it, taking it to a jeweler and getting a replica of it made? Then you can change the little things you need changed and have it in your size?

Actually the jeweler who we bought it from will be in NY right after the holidays- so we are going to do a little research- but we will meet with him and come up with some options after we see what all our options are- and think about what we want to do.
