So FH and I thought we would go look for wedding bands yesterday b/c there were all these good post x-mas sales. .so we went to zales and found this band that we liked with my ring. . . so we think we get a really good discount on it. . but then look it up on line later and the ring is the SAME price as the TWO discounts he sold us the ring for - meaning they just jacked up the price in the store for their 'sale'. And the second discount, he only gave last minute which b/c of some issue with FH's band so if he hadn't it would have been MORE than the on-line price. . and this just PISSES ME OFF. .. . like it's total dishonesty and in a way we were ripped off. so now, I want to return it for principle. .. . am I being stupid. . or do I have a right to be mad. . . oh and this is the ring
But the price might have been different due to the quality of the diamonds. A lot of stores (not just jewelry) have different prices online and in store, and some wont even match online prices if they are cheaper. Weird, I know.

I would DEFINITELY go back there and tell him about what you saw online. Print out the picture w/the price and tell him that you need an ACTUAL discount or you're taking your business elsewhere. That's ridiculous!

Yep I would do the same thing!!!! I am also a bit angry with Zales and will never go there again.... Zales used to be reasonable, then I went there in Dec... to get some BM jewelry there (you know with all the sales going on) and everything was SOOOOOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE!!! I couldnt believe the prices they were giving me!!! I was seriously shocked!!
Oh and by the way... I love your ring

Well to be honest, that is what they do when they 'have sales' on jewlery. They always jack up the price to put it on sale...or back to regular price. It does suck and is dishonest!

That is a gorgeous ring I must say.
I would go back with the printed picture and explain that it's the same price and see what they can do for you. Maybe the quality of the diamond makes a difference like someone before me said. Sometimes, that does affect the price. Update us if you do go back, I am interested to know what happens.

Same thing happened to FH and I. We bought my ring before christmas and when I checked online it was the the same price as online as what we paid for with 'a great discount.' I was mad. And to top it off, they also added the a $54 lifetime warranty that we didn't want. And now they can't take off the $54.
But the end all of it is you are getting a gorgeous ring and you will not remember all of the hassel. :) At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Thanks everyone. .. makes me feel better. I think i will go back and just ask them - worst thing they can do is just say - too bad.
And you are right - I DO need to remember I have a ring I like and will remember that. .. I just hate to have dishonest folks have my cash.
