I think it is a good idea if it has diamonds. If it were a simple band then I'd say no.

we're going to add both rings. they're too expensive and wnat to be covered should something every happen to them (god forbid!)
here's how I look at it, if people care enough to insure their laptops, I can certainly insure my wedding band! It doesn't cost very much and it's comforting to know that if anything happens to it, it's covered by insurance

I'm adding mine to my policy and I think we'll add FH as well. Ours is only $100/year for my e-ring. I doubt it will go up too much more for the bands.
