Wedding Band Prices

I only want a plain platinum wedding band, and FH wants the same. The jewler said it might run $700 for mine, and $1300 for his. Doesn't this sound like a lot of plain bands?

for platinum? it's pretty close to right i'm sure. you can shop around before committing. you could always do white gold now and then upgrade later.

It depends how thick you want them. I saw 2mm plat bands for ladies in fortunoff for I think around 250 (I don't even think Tiffany's 2 mm band was 700).HTH!

ETA: I also have a small size finger which prob affects the cost as well

my DH band was $1500 - it's a huge chuck of platium

and he wears a size 12

Ahh, ok. For some reason I thought that since it's plain that it would be cheaper.

If you got it in white gold it would be cheaper. That is what my friend did even though her engagement ring was platinum.

platinem is expensive. you could get something nicer if you're willing to get white gold.

we got a quote for white gold for FH's ring at Tri County for @ $350.

that's what i did..and you can't tell, since i have stones all around...fh got 18k WG and it is very heavy...

Our jeweler told us the price of gold and platinum are through the roof!!

^^^yes, i saw a story the other day saying that gold prices are sooo high that people are going silver. (and platinum is just higher anyway so if gold goes up, guess what?)

i recently got a few quotes from places and my FH was quoted $1500 for a 5mm band.

We just got our bands on tuesday from http://www.thefacetscollection.com and his band was $850 for a 6mm band. All of the jewelers told us how much platinum prices have gone up. I've looked at quite a few places and have yet to see anything for cheaper than $850. Good luck. Check out that website!
