I was just wondering. Me and FH still have not picked out our wedding rings. Can anyone let me know (FM me if you want) how much you paid for your band. I want a band with diamonds either all around it or just in the front. Small in width and platinum (as my engagement ring is that) and less then $1,000.
Every website i have been on show the rings i like to be between $1,000-$3,000 and i don't want to spend that much...
Also, anyone have any recommendations about where to go on Long Island to get them?

I went to my jewler in the city and told him how much we wanted to spend. He then showed me what I can get for my money. I got the shared prong eternity band...but the amount you want to spend determines the size of the diamonds.

i am looking for the same thing.....eternity..all the way around but havent tried any on yet
if i get a plain platinum band ..i want a tiffany's band
personally i would never buy it from just any jewelery store but i was looking at fortunoff because i know they have good diamonds.... they are under $1,000 but when you are looking for great diamonds and platinum...it will be $$$$
i just might go back to the guy my FH bought my diamond from

When FI and I picked out our rings..I said I wanted platinum b/c my Ering is..the jeweler (who is a friend of the family) said, if you are going to have diamonds in the band, you should just get white gold..you can't tell the difference and its much cheaper! If you want diamonds all around..you will barely see the platinum. JMO

White gold is cheaper but it is a forever ring.... platinum lasts longer and doesn't tarnish like white gold.... this is what i was told and there was a special on the other day on TV the difference of wqhite gold and platinum

I chose a band that is sorta like an eternity ring. Just not really heheh. The diamonds are spaced out evening all the way around the gold band (yes it comes in plat) $800
Jim on the other hand.... I bought him an engagement ring!!!!!!! 1/4 carat channel set diamond/plat ring. Won't tell you how much cause Im sure you realize it wasn't cheap!

Platinum recently went up in price - again - so you might find it difficult to find a ring as you're describing in the price range you want...unless the jeweller you go to hasn't adjusted their price. If you're fortunate enough to be the sample size, you should be able to get a decent price.
I disagree with the white gold comment and pairing it with platinum. White gold definitely turns color - and you will notice it yellowing over time. Plus the color of white gold - initially - is noticeably different than the color of platinum.
If you're comfortable with online purchases, Mondera seems to have a great selection and even better prices. I've never purchased from them, so I can't vouch for quality, etc...but when I was looking for my band, they had what I was looking for at about half the price of what we paid for it. (FH refused to buy online.)
