wedding bands

FW and I went wedding band shopping this weekend, and I was amazed by how much more expensive guys rings are then girls. I was looking at several with some 'millwork' and or a 'hammered finish' (I'll post some pictures when I actually decide which I'm getting) but they were between $450 and $600. FW was looking at ones with diamonds embedded in the ring itself and they were only $200. What gives? I wasn't looking at overly huge rings with tons of gold or annything. Guess thats the price you have to pay for the hammering and milling...

Have you guys picked your rings out yet?

yeah, we're doing simple comfort fit wedding bands from greenkarat.com. not too bad in terms of price, and environmentally sound.

Were you amazed by the feel of the comfort fit ones? I know I was. It was suprisingly more comfortable then the regular bands!

Yeah, who knew there was such a huge difference? I know precious little about jewelry, I don't even wear a watch.

I'm proud to say I just ordered our rings yesterday, so one more checkmark on the list.

Haha I hear ya. I never wear a watch or any other jewelry either!

Keep checkin things off the list, soon enough we'll be done!

if you're looking for a real comfort fit, with a lesser price tag, go with a titanium ring for yourself. It is similar in 'look' to platinum (if that's your stlye), and far more resilient. Especially if you're hands-on worker, they hold up well for the cost. Downside is that it cannot be cut off if you have an injury to your finger in the future. However, the pricetag allows you to spend the extra on her band.

Re: wedding bands

did your ring have a diamond in it? a mans ring tends to have bigger diamond(s) (not as big as their engagement ring of course!) ... while the female's ring has multiple smaller diamonds, which is less expensive. we are still looking for rings...apparently 7 months is 'cutting it close!' and we need to hurry! lol

Re: wedding bands

Picked out our rings today. Significantly cheaper back here in NY then they were out in NM. Go figure. We got matching comfort fit white gold with millwork on the edges. $380 for the two of them.

We're having them engraved, but decided we'd suprise each other with the engraving by calling it in to the jeweler over the next few days.

That's great! Glad to hear things are moving along.
