I'm new to all this so please let me know if I'm being a b*tch lol. My FMIL wants to help pick out my wedding band with my FH and when he told me this I flipped out a little because I think me and my FH should do this together on our own. Am I over reacting? What do you girls think?

Re: wedding bands
Then leave her behind, she has NOOOOO say in your wedding bands!!!! Tell FH to talk to her, she cant pick out rings.

Re: wedding bands
FH and I did it together. Some people do it seperately and surprise each other with them. If it's important to you to do it with FH, then open your mouth.. What does FH say about it?

Re: wedding bands
FH and I went together with my Aunt. My aunt was there because she knew the jeweler. Besides that we did everything on our own. The only thing FMIL helped pick out was the RH and my dress.

Re: wedding bands
this is something that should be special between u and ur FH. Leave the mom at home.. she'll see the rings after you buy them :)

Re: wedding bands
If it's important to her, maybe you can bring her along, but it should be clear that this is YOUR ring that you are gonna wear forever and YOU have to like it and no one else. Maybe she just wants to feel involved. Or if you're really uncomfortable having her come to pick out your ring, invite her to do something else... maybe dress shopping with your mom? My FMIL came with me for that and we also took her to one of our showcases for the RH so she could check it out, taste the food, etc.
What I've learned from the whole experience is pick your battles. HTH!

Re: wedding bands
She probably wants to be involved somehow in the planning of the wedding. Include her in other aspects, but not with the moments that are intimate.

Re: wedding bands
I would go alone with FH, this is something special to you. Ask her to go along for flowers or something.
