Okay, so a few questions about the wedding bands/rings...
1.) My engagement ring was a family heirloom from him...a lot of people seem to try to get rings that fit together. I don't know that this will fit together with anything. How are you supposed to wear/what are you supposed to do with your engagement ring during and after the ceremony?
2.) How did you guys go about picking out wedding bands? Matching sets? Individual designs? Does each partner pick out his and her own ring and the other partner buy it for him or her?
I'm looking at men's rings online right now...I don't see him wearing his ring much unless he has one he really likes...gotta check with him, but I could see him liking one of the cool Celtic ones I've seen...
3.) Does anyone know of anywhere I could look in person to find some Celtic ones that are under $500?
any advice is greatly appreciated!! :)

Re: Wedding Bands- General Protocol?
for your ring you can get something custom made. i know a lot of girls have gone to elsa in farmingdale (they are a vendor on here)
as for celtic rings Jared's had some but not a large selection, you might even be able to find one online

As far as your ring not matching anything you may have to get it custom made but it can get exspensive. Zales custom makes rings also. If thats not an option you can wear your engagement ring on the other hand and just wear your wedding band by itself. We are getting complety different sets. I wanted a fancier ring and he wants something plain. We each picked out our own ring.

Re: Wedding Bands- General Protocol?
My engagement ring is also a family heirloom. Finding a wedding band was difficult because it's pear shaped and didn't sit flush with any modern bands. I finally found the perfect band at Na Haku in Roosevelt Field mall. I didn't want contour or weird shaped because I want the option of wearing it alone in addition to with my e-ring. I was just browsing and found a bow shaped ring that looks beautiful alone and the bottom of my pear fits right into the dip in the bow. I don't even thing it's considered a 'wedding band' but it's perfect. Don't just ask to see wedding bands. Look at everything and you may find what you're looking for.
The custom route can produce some amazing rings, but it was too pricey for me. We have a joint account that we both regularly deposit into and use for home expenses, weekend dates, etc. We took from that to pay for our bands. I picked my own with his help. He chose his own. He's really not into the whole wearing a ring thing because he's never worn jewelry, but he found a simple white gold band (It's not plain...but the design around the edge is very simple) at Tri County that's comfortable, so we're going to go with that one.
I was told that bluenile.com is great.

Re: Wedding Bands- General Protocol?
I just got mine last month and we've yet to purchase his even though we saw the one we want to get him last month as well. I'd say wait to purchase, but it's never too early to look around. You wouldn't want to buy something a year in advance and then a few months down the road see something you'd rather have. But then again, if you're pretty decisive (totally not like me) then it may be something you know you'll stick with and can check that off the list early. I'd wait though.
