Has anyone done or been to a wedding were there was an ice cream cake? My FH and I don't like cake and don't care if the cake doesn't sit out on display during the reception. Any ideas/suggestions on where or how to do an ice cream cake would be greatly appreciated!

Re: wedding cake
This doesn't really help you but in addition to a piece of wedding cake my hall puts a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the plate.

Re: wedding cake
we served a regular wedding cake but then dh and i had a separate ICE CREAM Wedding cake- that is our favorite type of cake and the rh was more than happy to accomodate us.
so , we had two wedding cakes, it was wonderful.

Re: wedding cake
I inquired about this too because we really wanted an ice cream cake. We discussed it with the hall and they talked us out of it. They told us by the time it would be served it would be melting or melted. It takes a long time to cut it up and serve it. It also would not be able to be put on display and any pictures of it would have to be extremely rushed because of the melting factor. Anyway, that's what we ran into. We ended up doing cupcakes instead. I hope you have better luck!

What if you got a fake cake? Something made out of cardboard and had one little section that was real for you to use during the cake cutting ceremony. Then the ice cream cake can be served.
