Wedding Cake Shaped Cookies?

Wedding Cake Shaped Cookies?

I picked up a 3 tier wedding cake cookie cutter for $1.99 from Michaels today. I have this grand delusion that I'm going to make those cute wedding cake cookies for my OOT guest bags. Anyone try this and have tips on the easiest way to do the icing?? I also bought that Color Mist stuff that you can spray onto the cookie to color the icing--I guess if you have a stencil, it's basically like spray painting the cookie

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm having my own cookie sweatshop in the kitchen. Being a BM in my wedding comes at a price Just kidding! I figure I'll have to make about 100 but I think cookies keep for awhile so I can spread out the baking (I hope!).

I LOVE IT!!!! I wanna do the same now!!!! But I won't have time because I already had the grand delusion (which has become a reality) of MAKING candles for my favors... I have to make 250 candles!

Dont worry though... you can do it!

Hmmmm. Looks a tad daunting to me, but I'm sure it's doable!!! You'll do a great job- doesn't Michaels give cake decorating classes every so often?

That's a good idea! I should check out their calendar. I'm definitely not looking to get quite as detailed with the icing as the ones in the picture. I don't know--maybe I'll just make chocolate chip wedding shaped cookies

You could ask a bakery to help you- you'd of course have to pay them but at least they could show you some inside tricks.

What recipe are you using? Depending on the recpe you can bake them way ahead of time and freeze them. Then defrost them for 24 hrs when you are ready to decorate.

How do you want to decorate them. Give me an idea and I can give you some tips.

There was a recipe that came along with the cookie cutter, but I haven't really looked for a better one yet. Is there some way to freeze the cookie after it's iced as well?

Ideally, I'd love to be able to make the icing look like the pink cookie in the first pic I posted in this thread, but given my limited abilities, maybe something simpler like these would be better for me--any tips are much appreciated Thanks for your help!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I think I'm going to make a test run of cookies next weekend and see how they turn out. It might be worth buying them if it will save my sanity..and some food poisoning
