Wedding Cakes

So I work at the largest culinary school in NYC...

The advanced pastry students now have their wedding cakes on display in our reception area.

All I can say is WOW. They are amazing. I am going to bring a camera to work and take pictures, so I can post them here.

OOOh! Can you get one of them to back YOUR cake?

And how do I become a student?

I was seriously considering asking my fav Pastry chef instructor to make it for me. I might. They freelance on the side.
Some of them cater weddings, but I might just have them do the cake

there are about 5.
most have flowers, pearls, fondant icing, really pretty.
One class got creative because instead of a bride and groom on top, there is a groom and groom 21st century!

What is tuition like at schools like this? And if pastry is your major, are you required like an academic college to do 'core' requirements?
