I'm thinking of ordering my bridesmaids dresses from The Wedding Center in Commack and wondering what reviews you have of the place.
Also, if you opted to alter any dresses there, how did they turn out?
Thanks for your help!!

Re: Wedding Center in Commack
I wound up finding my bridal gown there cheaper than anywhere else. The one woman I worked with was great, I went by myself she helped me for over an hour and I tried on the dress I eventually bought like 4 times after each dress. No pressure to purchase.I heard mised reviews before going there but for me they were great. I havent had my dress altered though

Re: Wedding Center in Commack
I was there on Sunday and it was crazy busy but they had a great selection of bridesmaids dresses and their prices seemed good too. I can't really comment on their service because my sister and I told them we were just looking and really didn't need any help. But when I asked for color swatches and things they were very helpful and got it for me right away, especially considering how busy it was.

YUCK!!!! lots of luck to you if you decide to use them. In my opinion I think they are very rude there

Re: Wedding Center in Commack
I'm having my BM's order their dresses there. And I'm crossing my fingers everyone's dress comes out good. I chose them, because they had the dresses cheaper than the Wedding Salon of Manhasset's 15% discount, because that's where I ordered my dress from. The Wedding Center also said we had a month longer to order the dresses, and the BM's didn't have to pay for the whole dress when they ordered, I think the deposit was about half.
We haven't had the dresses altered yet since my girls are still offering them. Really, I think your service deepends on who helps you. Last friday, I was there ordering with one of my girls and the ladies were very nice, and even helped me look at some flower girl dresses. My best advice is not to go on a day when they are very busy, like Saturday afternoon and you'll get better service. And they seem to have the best prices, so if that's a concern order the dresses there. Just don't let them try to tell you about their package deals, because they'll make you want to second guess your other vendors - I think of it this way, I choose my other vendors for their artistic ability, as well as price .

Re: Wedding Center in Commack
I was in a wedding 3 years ago, and she got her wedding dress, and all the bridesmaid dresses there. They ALL came out perfect. I was very happy dealing with them as a bridesmaid!!
Now, I found the jim hejlm BM dress I want for my wedding. I found it at another store for a super cheap price. (about 40 less than any other store) So i went to the wedding center, and they matched the price! my girls will be doing alterations this time around as well, and i'm not nervous about it at all.
So far in both experiences I have not had any problems. I would still recommend them to anyone!

Re: Wedding Center in Commack
I ordered the BM's dresses there and so far so good. Just one mistake which could have been a major one but because I'm on top of things I caught it in time. I wanted a shorter version of the style of dress I picked, the woman typed in the wrong style. They changed it for me no problem and I've dealt with 3 or 4 different women over there. Before choosing which location to order the dresses from, I visited the wedding center 3 times and they matched the dress price quoted at another location. Since then, I changed my colors twice before placing the order, they had to reprint the contracts 3 times and never dealt with rude salespeople.
A little advice: when I first called the wedding center to get information, the woman advised me to come on a weeknight instead of the weekend because the prom rush has started (Jan-May) believe it or not - plus all brides who were engaged for Valentine's day. Also, being that the holidays are now over and the weather is changing, us brides are beginning to venture out to get things done. LOL Hope it helps and good luck!!!

Re: Wedding Center in Commack
My mom got her MOB dress there. Their assistance in helping her pick it out was great! We were there for quite awhile and they never pressured us or made us feel like we should leave. After the sales associate saw my mom's style, she started choosing dresses she felt she would like. We ended up getting one of the dresses the associate selected.
My mom is choosing to do her alterations elsewhere b/c she lives in VS so Commack is a bit far. We have a seamstress that we've been using for years, locally.

Re: Wedding Center in Commack
I got married this past July and I used them for my BM dresses and they were great! Check out my review for more nformation, but overall, it was quick, easy, and the prices were amazing, so much cheaper than anywhere else. We went on a Saturday morning, early, and it was dead. Two of my girls had alterations done and they were perfect. Also, all the dresses came in weeks ahead of time! I know there have been some horror stories, but for me it was a great experience and it saved my girls at least $50 compared to anywhere else. Hope that helps!

Re: Wedding Center in Commack
I've had a pleasant experience so far! We ordered the girls' dresses at the end of January and it was fairly painless, and the prices were reasonable! I definitely suggest going during the week if you can - especially if you need to narrow down your choices. My mom also went there to look and had a great experience! She plans on going back to order her dress as well! Hope this helps!
