Okay I never thought i would get to this point in my life that i am second guessing many things that had happen to me in the past and why i am who i am now. With that I am tired of being angry at the catholic church and even though I doubt i will ever attend sunday mass or still be a highly practicing christian (i once wanted to be a nun at 8) my family is starting to break me.
My grandmother was sad that i wasn't to be wed in a church and even though i have strong feelings at times against the church there is a fundamental trust and understanding to some of the teachings and practices. Now to my question....
Can anyone truly inform me how much a wedding costs and the breakdown of classes you would need to do to get married in the church?
My fh and I's church had been OLPH in lindenhurst. I don't want to call and inquire because I don't want to back out and seem not serious about it. FH really doesn't want to do it but i think deep down inside he does its just he lost his faith many years ago when his parents both died at a young age and he felt the church did nothing for him or his family. So this is a emotional thing for both of us to consider.
Thank you

Re: Wedding Ceremony, OLPH Lindy Questions
There is your church fee - varries by church. Mine is $375 for the church, $100 for the singer $150 for the organ I believe? all manditory fees. Foccus was $25 for the testing Pre Cana was $75 (our was 2 sundays at church and 3 Thursdays at a person's house. Not nearly as bad as expected to be!) and then whatever you are giving your officient .
I think that's it? At least that's all I have written down that i have to pay for!
Then of course if you want to put flowers in the church and your unity candle etc.
Good luck. I hope that helped! :o)

Re: Wedding Ceremony, OLPH Lindy Questions
I think my church is $500 and then any other fees for the organist and what not. I think pre-cana at each church can vary. SweetCin got married at OLPH so maybe you can FM her. Good luck!
