wedding colors

Maybe I am missing something here-when someone asks you what your wedding colors are, are they referring to your girls' dresses, your flowers, linens? My out of state cousins (I have many) are all asking me this and then basing what they will wear on that. I don't want everyone in the same color...I just keep saying my girls are wearing rose and the flowers are bright summer colors but please wear any color you may like. Is this commonly asked and do guests usually try to match the wedding colors? I have never asked a bride what her colors were in order to plan my outfit.

Sometimes guests ask you so that they don't wear the same colors as your bp. Maybe your cousin is also planning a wedding, and didn't want to use your colors..?! I was asked a million times, by different ppl. Other times ppl ask just to ask....What you replied is fine...'my colors are: rose and flowers are summer colors'
PPL don't ask me anymore.... I keep it very simple: Tiffany blue and silver! I know I asked my FSIL what were her colors, after she told me, things didn't work out that way, and colors were changed. I was upset bc I could've worn a chocolate color dress but bc she told me that was her color, I didn't buy it......Don't sweat it, it's just a question ppl like to know. Think of it as not trying to disrespect you.

I agree. I think most people try to avoid the BM colors so that they don't mix in with your BP.

i think it's pretty common to ask that of a bride. in general they are just asking what your color scheme is. we all tend to have about 2 or 3 colors that we are using throughout our wedding...(like mine was silver and purple). so ppl would ask the question just to make sure they weren't wearing colors that were too similiar to the BP.

yes I agree, usually people just what to know what colors are your prime colors, mine in Tiffany Blue and Stark White......that what I tell them, but that dosent mean you can have other colors blended in to you wedding scheme....
