I am totally unsure of what type of colors to do for my wedding!!
UGHHHHHH!!!
I keep leaning toward gold, ivory and maybe pink but everytime I go on the net to look for ideas it's always some type of farty pictures that pop up!!!
I am so confused!! How did everyone pick their colors?

I just picked my colors based on what I liked. I love little black dresses and pearls. Such as Jackie O's style. So, my girls are wearing elegant black dresses and I am buying them pearls. Then I figured I love black because it's elegant and thought about ideas and colors that would go with that. So, I am picking black, white, ivory and hints of golds.

a nice champagne gold with pink would look so pretty.
Also pink with a touch of green and ivory would look really nice.
Goto Alfred Angelo website. He has some great shades of pink. That is how I decided on my colors.

Our colors are black and white. We just decided that it would look classy and loved some of the ideas we saw online for a black and white wedding

i started with my favorite color..uhm.. RED , then i played around with complimentary colors. i should say that i still continue to p lay around with complimentary colors, i keep flip-flopping . i added aqua after i saw it in Martha Stewart weddings mag.
i'm trryin to choose a color scheme that is different but then i run into problems finding accessories. this is it though!!! i hope

its a hard thing to pick i must say. I wanted a black and white wedding but my OLD SCHOOL mom would not have it and since i am her ONLY daughter i know this day is very important to her as well. Then a friend suggested the tiffany blue theme and sent me pics of ideas and i LOVED IT!!! but the first time i took the girls to try on dresses, all the dressed they liked looked HORRIIBLE in the tiffany blue so i started to panic! lol i think i may make the colors of the dress a neutral color like champagne or sand and use the tiffany blue in the decorations.

I am in the exact same boat as you. I saw the Martha Stewart color combo as well! I want to have navy in there too... but my in laws are all about how it is going to look 'Americana'... ugh! Maybe we can help one another out!

I picked my colors around the season.
I orginally had to options:
dark blue, silver and white deep red, silver and white.
I love the holiday season so I went with the deep red
My advice is start with your fav. colors and the season you are getting married in. Red and blue are my fav. colors so I knew I would be looking in those families of color.

My fav color is pink, so that's my main color for the wedding. I am still deciding whether I want to do pink & green, pink & brown, or just different shades of pink. Being that it's fall, I would probably do a vibrant pink mixed with a pale pink.
My advice would be to pick one of your favorite colors, or a combo of colors that you like that compliment each other well.
David's Bridal has a thing on their site where you can piece your wedding colors together too.

I tried to pick my colors b.c of the season and using colors I like together.
I'm not 100% sure what colors I am using yet though.

When my wedding was in july, I just used my favorite color (hot pink) and then I chose an accent color (metallic gold)..now that the wedding is in december, I decided to feed off of that and use a winter theme..

I am with you!!! I swear planning has been a ton of fun... except the whole color scheme thing...I have plans to go to visit Serendipity on the boards at her job to help me zero in on colors...
I feel like the problem is that I LOVE color...and sooo many colors at that... i just want them all but cant do that obviously.. Im lost on this one...OY!

I am hooked on pink w/ ivory and I'm thinking of adding some gold as an accent
