wedding colors- Do I HAVE to have one???

This may sound like a SHOCK to everyone.

But I dont have wedding colors.

Now, I am going to shop for BM dresses. I am either going with Chocolate brown or a deep purple. We will see when we start shopping what the girls like.

The florist was given an idea of what I like. I LOVE deep purples and pinks. That what I would like to see for the centerpieces.

So I guess when I meet with the florist in september I will know..i guess.

But I cant see why I need to have 'colors'. I dont need to tie in too much. Im not having favors, so I dont need personalized ribbon. Im not having a program at the shul. My invitations are coming from Tiffany and they will be simple yet elegant. with No color on them. im having white flowers at the CH and ceremony. IWe will have a menu but it does not need to be with colored paper. If we do it, it wont be purple. will get the FG a ribbon for her dress the same color as the BM's.

So, I AM asking this: Am I missing anything that I NEED colors to 'tie it al together??'

I don't think that you 'need' colors to tie everything together. Everything you have said all sounds like it will go beautifully without classifing it as a specific color theme.

Thanks Jen. I just posted asking about your Ketubah on the other thread.

I think we may be the same person! I am using a ton of colors all over my wedding. I too was trying to decide between coco brown and deep purple and we decided on deep purple. Long story short...the reception is a mix of deep purple, light pink, light green, light orange. The cocktail decor is brown white and light green with some hints of lavender. The reason for the deep purple dresses had a lot to do with what I could coordinate the mens attire with. For example...FI is wearing a black tux with black vest and a custom purple tie. Groomsmen are in black tuxes with white vests and ties and the fathers will have silver vests and ties. The girls shoes are all peweter color.

Oh and our invites and save the dates were: brown, sage green, white, and purple.

No, you don't need colors. Not at all!

Some people need colors to keep themselves grounded and focused so they don't end up with too many colors that it looks messy.

It sounds like you have some GREAT ideas about what you want your centerpieces to look like, and that you're giving your BMs some say in the colors of their dresses, which is a perfect start! As you go out and shop more, you'll start to develop your color palate. But by all means don't feel like you have to announce your 'wedding colors' or even have any!
