OK, so we interviewed a few wedding coordinators and fell in LOVE with one of them.
The price we got was 20% of our final buget. Now is that a normal to be charged that for this type of service? I thought it would be a flat rate.........
If you had a wedding coordinator, were you happy with your decision? What type of package did you do? Did you get a flate rate or a percentage rate? Any advice on what type of package is really worth it?
Thanks everyone!

What wedding coordinator are you going with?

Re: Wedding Coordinator
i think if you are using a wedding coordinator versus a day of coordinator, a percentage of your total cost is probably correct.

Re: Wedding Coordinator
I think a lot of girls here only use a 'Day Of' Wedding Coordinator, which is what I'm using. That may be why you're not getting a lot of responses because a lot of girls on this site don't use all out 'wedding coordinators'. Many wedding coordinators also have packages you can customize where you can have them do as much or as little as YOU want them to do, rather than have THEM plan the whole wedding.
Personally, I love the idea that the wedding I plan will be my own. But, that's a personal decision based on what you want to do and how much time you have to plan your wedding. I think it's a lot to give that much money to a wedding coordinator to plan a wedding. On the other hand, a DOC charges a nominal fee and will be there all day on your special day to make sure you don't worry about anything and can enjoy the day, while she takes care of the details. In my case, she will also be there for the Rehearsal and will meet with you two weeks before to go over your vendors and contact info. so SHE can confirm your vendors for you in the weeks leading up to the wedding. That's enough of a coordinator for me, at least.
I think you can spend as much or as little on a wedding coordinator as you would like, depending on how much YOU want to be involved in planning your wedding. Just look around and think about how much effort and time you'll want to put into your wedding vs. how much time and effort you'll want a wedding coordinator to put into your wedding. If 20% is doable for you and seems like a fair price, then I think you have your answer. But if you're going to end up doing most of the work, that seems very high and you can get better packages to meet your needs from other vendors on this site. .
Good luck!

Do you recommend a good DOC? I really don't want to have to stress about anything the day of.
Thanks,

Re: Wedding Coordinator
you cannot beat Laura from LA productions!! check out her reviews, she was vendor of the year last year and she is amazing. If you are going to go with a coordinaotr or DOC, go with the best and experienced!!!
Everyone RAVES about Rosalie - I corresponded with her last week via email, then I met her at the Bridal Extravganza today, and I will book her for sure.
