Hey ladies.. hope all of your plans are going great!!!
How do you all feel about a wedding planner/coordinator?
Do you think its worth the money or do you feel you can do it all on your own?
I sometimes think having one will make it much easier..

Re: Wedding Coordinator/Planner
I dont think its a bad idea at all...The thing is I like to come up with all the ideas myself but it helps alot to have someone help you execute everything. For my wedding I do not want to be the way i was for my e-party...I had to run around like crazy, i work and have a long commute home, so to run around getting things and by the time i get home its late and then having to do everything was crazy...Plus i had to send my mom twice to go get things for me bc the things i bought some stuff from closed at 2pm, there were alot of things and i felt bad that she had to go. Then staying up late everynight the week before the party to do everything, i was beyond exhausted the day of...Then to get there early to drop things off, had to make two trips that week to the chateau la mer and its a 45 min drive from me and one time had to do it after work. It was alot and i was extremely stressed out, overly exhausted and just worn out
I dont want to be like that for my wedding...It will be great to have someone on top of everything, helping me get the things and not putting my family and friends through it too and making them run around to get things and helping me out with things.
And problems do occur, i had a problem up until 10 mins before my party and i was freaking out, its good to have someone take care of it and you not even knowing and save yourself the trouble

I have the same problem, thats why i haven't done it yet, but as of now i think i will hire one, depends on how i feel about them and how much control i will still have. If you want you can always hire just a day of coordinator

Re: Wedding Coordinator/Planner
Yeah I might just do the day of.
I mean its okay for them to have control BUUUUTTTT how much control will they have.... I don't want them to be a control freak about it and not let me be a apart of somethings...
I might just coordinate everything with my mother, sister and FH's mother.. Why pay for it when you can have part of your family do it.
ON the other hand it might be less stress for all of us hahah Indecisive much...
I got some prices and they are ranging from 500-700...
To be honest, thats ALOT of cash for a few hours, that day gratuties will be just that much when you think about it.

well you have to be comfortable with this, don't do it if you're not. You could meet with people first and see how you feel about them and try to get a feel of what they want to do.

I was thinking about it b/c everytime I ask my sister who is my maid of honor anything she says 'it's your wedding ,what do you think?' I hate that!

Re: Wedding Coordinator/Planner
I'm using a day of coordinator for my wedding. For my whole engagement I thought I can handle it. Now I'm done to the last few months and I'm realizing I really need someone to execute everything I want on my wedding day so I can enjoy myself. My DOC doesn't tell you what to do...she just makes sure that what you want and envision is exactly as it should be. Like....when you are going to the church (assuming your getting married in a church) how will you know that the flowers, aisle runner etc is set up how you like it. You are at the mercy of your vendors. I just think for the amount of money they cost it's worth it.

Re: Wedding Coordinator/Planner
At first I was like NOOOO WAY, I dont want a wedding planner, but my RH provides one complimentary (its not really complimentary becasue you have to give them something for helping you) andI am going to make an appointment to visit their studio. Its not bad if they give you feedback on vendors and if they give you ideas that you cant think of yourself, its bad if they take over and I dont want anyone taking over my wedding unless its me. Its bad if they give you ideas that SUCK, lolol. I will give it a try
