Hi girls! I had such a crazy day. I called my venue (Milleridge cottage .. or so I thought lol) and found out that they booked us for the WRONG room! I didn't even know there was another room!! :000 They had me down for the carriage house which apparently is a small room in the Milleridge Village. I was shocked and told her that I had never even seen this other room - just the Cottage!
She told me that my contract said Carriage House - another couple has what I thought was my wedding date in the Cottage (8/31/14, day before labor day). So 1) I was never booked at the cottage 2) I was in some room I had never even seen!! Crazy!! SO my NEW wedding date is June 29th, 2014 in the COTTAGE lo!! I am honestly much happier - 8/31 was too close to my birthday, sister/MOH birthday and my nieces bday. Also my niece/FG will be out of school for the summer (she lives in NC). Now I just have to hustleeee and thank god nothing major was booked! I was also getting frustrated because every vendor i contacted was already booked on the holiday weekend! (makeup, hair, photographers, etcetc) SO it worked out for the best!!! :)
I just have to re-order my save the dates, send back the old ones and call my dress place to make sure my dress/fittings will be fine!!!
Wow! That's so crazy! I’m glad you found out now, and not sooner with more vendors booked! What made you call and check?! They should definitely give you some perks for a mistake like that. No more date twin :( But I'm glad you're happier now with your new wedding date. I hope Christina Amador is now available for your new wedding date!!

Phew! That was a close one, but glad it all worked out fot the best! Yay for you being able to book Christina!

They gave No perks! I asked them to waive the ceremony fee and they wouldn't .

YOu should really ask for SOMETHING. Some brides could of been extremely difficult and went crazy. I know you love the place but, I would of definitely been persistent on being reimbursed in some way. Thats a huge mistake to make and they were lucky you were flexible

Wow!! Good thing you're happier now lol!! They SHOULD give you something for the mixup though- this could have been worse, like losing vendor deposit money for being unavailable on your new date and etc!

wow that's a bad mistake!! lol but yes things happen for a reason. to me, that reason would be a discounted rate because I'd be all over them about it!!! lol
