i once read that there was a website that had peoples wedding dates for sale. Fh and I do not want to wait till 2010 and every place we like is booked in 09. TIA

i have seen a date for sale on here not to long ago but i think it is in 2008-- i would keep calling the RH you like and see if any one canceled and keep an eye out here it see it you come across one- HTH

Is every date booked on LI? It's so funny how that is because we were booking our hall like 16 months in advance or something and many of the dates we wanted were booked, yet we have two friends in NJ who got engaged and got their dates like 6 months after getting engaged. Maybe less people get married in NJ. Ha ha! So weird!

Yes I know! It seems like every hall is booked for 2009 atm. But did you try places maybe in Queens/Brooklyn? They might have something open still for 09.
I know when DH and I booked (we got married in Queens) we booked 14 months in advance- and they still had some (not alot) of dates for 2008 that were available.
I don't know the site but I have heard of folks (brides) on here trying to sell their wedding date.
I'm curious as to what the site is though to sell the wedding date.

if you keep calling around you might find that a date opened up because of a cancellation. also, i think some girls on here post when they cancel their weddings or change the date. one last place to try is craigs list
cant believe every hall on LI is booked for 09 -- do you want a specific month or day or hall?

how about August 23rd 2008? it was supposed to be my date but we changed out minds and want to do it later. but everything is booked.

I agree! I planned my wedding for 2 years after i got engaged and i'm 2 months away! I have nooo idea where the time flew but it did, and even now i feel like I'm not ready. If you book for early 2010 i think you should be okay! Trust me it's not that long as you may thing it is.
