WEDDING DATE FOR SALE 8/4/07 (not me, whew!)

Hi gals...one of the teachers in my school's daughter was scheduled to get married at the Timber Point Country Club in Oakdale (Lessings) on a Saturday night in August with a 140 guest minimum. Well, long story short, the daughter did not want the wedding and she is now pregnant, so the wedding is off and the date is open...she can get some money back if someone else books it and I know it is very reasonably priced, especially for a Saturday night!! FM me if you want info....

FYI, as far as I know, Suffolk County law allows you full refund less $100 if you cancel at least 6 months in advance of the date...

Good luck and best wishes to your friend's daughter!

Right maybe you should show her these threads

Suffolk County Laws on Hall Refunds

As long as it is at least 6 months before (which it is) this law is applicable. She DOES NOT have to wait until they book her date either.

I wish Nassau County had a law like that. FH and I are planning on cancelling our hall and redoing our plans. We lose our deposit unless they re-book it and how do you really know they'll even tell you.....Hopefully your friends daughter will get her money back with that new knowledge...good luck to them

Unless you are getting married that day some where else... you can show up and see if they are having any weddings!

If they are having a wedding just stand there with your palm out.
