We're deciding between 3 wedding dates for 2011. What are your thoughts?
1) June 4th - comfortable weather but school is in session for attendees who are parents. Just a thought we had that may be an inconvenience for some of the guests.
2) August 20th - Concerns that the weather may be hot & humid but school is out of session.
3) September 3rd - Three day weekend as Labor Day is on Monday which is convenient & weather should be comfortable. Just found out that some churches won't perform wedding ceremonies during that holiday. It's the last weekend before school starts.
Our biggest concern is nice weather as the CH will be outside & convenience for our guests who are out of towners & parents.

Re: Wedding Dates Help
i say June 4th
im sept 2nd and if I hear one more time from people 'oh wow, that's a busy weekend.' I think I will scream
vendors book up fast for that weekend bc so many brides choose it apparently
june 4th is a saturday so it gives out of towners friday to get there and sunday to get home, I dont see any inconvenience
I personally dont think any wedding should be looked at as an inconvenience...do what you and fh want!

Re: Wedding Dates Help
I am a June baby so I vote for June. The weather can vary but it is still the most comfortable summer month to me. As far as kids still being in school don't worry about it is on the weekend and I am sure parents can make arrangements.

Re: Wedding Dates Help
I vote for June as well but I agree with the other girls about convenience...
I spent a lot of time looking for a closer church to make sure people would attend that and not just the reception and my priest told me, Listen, people who are going to attend your wedding are going to be there no matter what, they'll drive the extra half hour. Thats nice that you're trying to be helpful, but even people with kids who are close enough will plan out the details (with enough notice!) to make sure they can spend your special day with you. Don't waste your time worrying what other people think, plan your dream wedding.

Re: Wedding Dates Help
I would choose Aug
June-too early in the month it rained that week past 3 years
Sept- I am a Sept bride and I love that month but I am anti weddings on holiday weekends..Don't ruin my plans of a getaway for a wedding-lol
I have never attended a wedding on a 'weekend holiday' because I am one of those ppl that always goes somewhere....so I was anti labor day weekend-IMO

Re: Wedding Dates Help
I'd say June. August has a great chance to be really, really hot, and a lot of people are probably going to be away that first weekend of September.

I'd do June, but then again, I don't mind the heat.

Re: Wedding Dates Help
june... Everyone hates labor day weddings lmao... But, the last thing I would be worried about is inconveniencing parents.... Its your day and you've made plenty of sacrifices (im sure) for other brides

Re: Wedding Dates Help
I prefer the weather in September, so I pick September. Besides... June 4th is the end of the school year for elemtary, middle school, and high school students. I doubt their studying.. but just incase... also, in June you have to compete with other weddings, graduations, confirmations, etc.
Although... at the same time.. I would love to go to a June wedding.

Re: Wedding Dates Help
I'd go with either June or Sept. I wouldn't want to chance that it would be TOO hot during cocktail.

Re: Wedding Dates Help
I chose Sept 3... for obvious reasons... Quite honestly, regardless of what day you pick, WHO KNOWS WHAT THE WEATHER WILL BE LIKE???
People say June is nice... My BDay is 6/22 -- It always rains!!!
This 7/4 was nice, but remember the past 3 or 4? It rained!
My EParty was 8/29 and I almost had a hurricane on my hands... The same weekend this year was GORGEOUS!!!
This 9/3 I got married and had a tropical storm (Damn you Earl!!!).
Point being, don't go by the weather.
