wedding day coordinators...

I just posted the following question on the newlywed boards and am anxious to hear their responses. In the meantime, I was wondering if any of you have similar concerns?

My daughter hired someone for the entire day, from the morning at home to the end of the reception. I'm concerned about how other people and their egos will handle someone telling them what to do - photographers, bridal party, reception hall maitre-d, etc. It seems like a perfect way to take the stress away from me and my daughter that day, but I'm really starting to wonder how this all plays out. Thanks.

IMO, I think the whole idea of a wedding day coordinator is ridiculous, and a waste of money.

But seriously, different people handle stress in different ways. If my daughter feels she'd rather have someone else worrying about what's going on at the church and having it decorated properly while we are at home, or if the reception room is set up how we want it while we are at the CH, then I'm all for it! My initial reaction was like you's, but I'm coming to realize it's all in how you use these people, and what everyone's individual needs are for the day. IMO.

This is why I hired a day of coordinator.

LImom you are so involved, I wish my mom would be more involved in my wedding.
