i dont live on long island, but by the time of the wedding my fh and i will have an apartment, dont know where, dont know how big. so, i dont know if its best to book a hotel to get ready, and i dont know where to plan to go and get hair and makeup since i dont know where on the island i will live. so do you think it would be best to book someone who would come to me so i dont have to worry or would that be a pain to have a hair person, makeup person and bridal party in a possible small one bedroom apt. im trying to avoind paying for something like a hotel suite. im just trying to plan thing and i am a little confused.
what do you think would be the best game plan.

I think it might be. Liz posted some details about the Wingate on the may board, and I am considering it for FH

Dont panic!
A lot of brides get ready in nice hotel rooms. I think in your case, it is probably the easiest choice. Have all your bridesmaids meet you there. Book makeup and hair to come to you. This way you are not going crazy that day! You'll be nervous as it is, this is probably the easiest option for you.
If I were in your shoes, I'd do that.

Book a hotel suite- not room. It will get too crowded in a room with makeup/hair, your Mom, BMs, photographers etc... Also, book only hair/makeup vendors that will come to you. That way it doesn't matter where you get ready, they will travel to you.

I'd definitly get a hotel room, but that can be small too if you don't want to spend the money. How soon are you able to use the bridal suite at your reception place or a place in your church even? Do you have any family on LI you could use their house?

Re: WEDDING DAY GETTING READY...MINI DILEMA
here's another idea ... instead of a suite, you could book 2 adjoining rooms ... keep the doors open ... it would give you more room, and cost less than a suite. You'd have access to a second bath which you NEED, def it all of your girls are going to dress there. Have your Makeup and hair stylist come to you .... believe me, it's worth it!!
Also, are your girls LIers or are they traveling as well? You could have them dress at home, limiting the amount of space you needed. If not, then the second room would be essential.

In in the same situation, and I'm looking to book a room. It'll just make life easier that way. I haven't booked it yet, so I can't make any recommendations (sorry) but, where is your reception?

I'm booking a suite at the Fox Hollow... it just seemed logical since that's where the reception is (and ceremony is in Island Park)...

Same situation here, as dub mentioned above, I booked the Grand Bridal Suite at Wingate Inn. It's huge, and plenty of space for hairstyling and makeup. I must be comfortable w/my girls getting ready. Plus it'll be fun - all of us together from the night before

I think it would be such a nice idea to get ready in a fab hotel room and have the hair & makeup people come to you... I think it would be the ultimate pampering experience. Let us know what you decide.

I book The Marriot Residence Inn in Plainview-it was like an apartment 2bathroom bedroom, living room w/sofa bed & full kitchen, I think it was $229(not sure) we had more than enough room & hubby & I stayed there after the wedding as well.

Re: WEDDING DAY GETTING READY...MINI DILEMA
I plan on looking into getting a room too just because my house is small and cluttered with animals etc. but I dont want to spend alot on a suite, I think the idea of the 2 rooms could work, guess it depend on how many people will be there, like Bm wise.
I have 7 plus photographers and hair people, maybe getting hair done somewhere else might be better if your situation is like mine.
