Wedding day make-up

Wedding day make-up

Jacqueline Nicole from Prettyme is not available on my wedding day.

Oksana has a tentative booking for my date, but she will let me know around the 15th of October.

I haven't been able to reach Ayana from MAC.

Denise from Angel Eyes is also not available. She is going on vacation that week.

EDIT: I have left messages for Beautiful Beginnings, Dina at Beautiful Possibilities, Jackie from I Makeup You, Jillian from Gorgeous Faces, and someone else from MAC. Hopefully one of these ladies will get back to me and will be available.

So who else should I be calling?

Same thing with me JN and Oksana are booked. I am having a trial with Denise from Angel Eyes on Saturday. She did Bethsiar's makeup and it looked gorgeous. I say give her a call. And my wedding is not until October 05 and these people are booking up.

Re: Wedding day make-up

Does anyone know a make-up artist who has experience w/ Rosacea (a skin condition)? I am thankfully looking terrifico NOW...but who knows what will surface b/w now and Nov. 28th? I don't trust most aestheticians b/c they seem to treat Rosacea and other blemishes by poking/prodding or using products w/ alcohol or sulfur, both of which would make me worse.

Thanks for any replies! Good luck w/ your planning, lovelies.

Thanks ladies. I am starting to think that I should have booked this earlier.

I check that nyweddingmakeup. Sorry, but I cannot afford her. She charges $250 for day of makeup and $75 for a trial.

Actually, the trial is free if you go to her studio so you could go just to see how you like the makeup done. But she is a little pricey for day-of.

You might want to try Lynda Lane of Chameleon faces. She is an African American make-up artist (charges $40 for airbrushing, $35 for trial and will come to you). She did my sister's make-up for her 30th b-day party and my sister looked absolutely stunning. Very sweet woman. I have to look up her number and get back to you. She also did nsgraham and charlotte227's makeup for their weddings. They gave her glowing reviews.

Aww damn it. I have her number before. I will find it and call her. Thanks.

Re: Wedding day make-up

I am so damned aggravated right now. Jackie from I Makeup You won't come to queens to do just me. She needs to have at least 5 people or $450. I have also called people from Brooklyn and Manhattan and they won't come to queens either. I mean, it's not that far. Why is Queens so darn difficult for people.

What is wrong with people? *sigh*

Re: Wedding day make-up

It seems the only way I cna get someone to come to queens is to spend $500 - 800. I don't have that kind of money and I don't think my BM are willing to pay $100 each for their makeup.

I don't know what I am going to do. I guess I will talk to the girls and see what they want to do as far as makeup.

My grandmother will definitely need her makeup done, so that is one person I can add to the list.

I am sorry to be venting, but I am just so disappointed. I really want to get my makeup done.

I had a similar problem when I told people that I was getting ready in Westchester, only 30 minutes away. A lot of highly recommended people did not want to travel at all, even if I had 10 people getting makeup done. Very frustrating!
