wedding day schedule..

So I finally got my ceremony time...

2 pm in WNY, NJ - full mass about 45min-1 hr

when should our cocktail hour start? the rh is about 30 mins away.

I'm thinking 6...

is that a good time?

Also, how do we plan where to go in between? We would have 3 hours to kill!

Well figure your ceremony will be over around 3ish......you probably won't start exactly at 2.

Are you doing a receiving line? If so, add another 10-15minutes. Then pictures? Add another 15 minutes or so.

Now you're not leaving the church until at least 3:30-3:45.

I would say have your CH start around 6ish if you can.

Are you taking pics at an off site location in between?

I'd add even more time for the receiving line and pictures at the church. I bet you won't leave the church until maybe 4? I'd look into having the CH start at about 5:30. That way no one is rushing to get there, but they also aren't hanging out outside waiting for it to start and you won't have to plan something to keep them occupied in the mean time. My ceremony is at 5 PM and my CH starts at 8:30 on a Friday. The RH is about 30-45 minutes from the church depending on the traffic, however JT is giving us a smaller room to use as an 'early arrival lounge'. That will be open at 7:30 and will have cheese and crackers and open bar.

It's hard to avoid. It's when the bride & groom leave the church and guests file out, forming a line, to greet you and congratulate you. So you pretty much have to stand there and say hi and thank you for coming to every single person who was at the ceremony.
