Wedding day transportation

Wedding day transportation

Hi ladies, what is 'typical' for how parents of the bride and groom go to the church & reception? Should they be in a parent limo? Ride with the larger bridal party in the bus? Be driven by other family/friends? Keep in mind the grooms parents, while friendly, are no longer married.

I asked around on this one too, before we booked our limos. One friend told me his parents drove themselves to the reception! My dad and I are going to ride to the church in our own private car (Rolls Royce) and my mom and other immediate family members will ride with the bridesmaids in the party bus (the bus will have already picked up and dropped off FH & groomsmen).

Going to the reception, a stretch car is going to come for my parents and other immediate family members not in the wedding party. A small car is coming to take FH's parents to the reception. They are going to drive themselves to and from the church though. There's a bit of a gap between church and reception for us, that's why.

We had originally booked a separate limo for our parents but decided that money could be put to better use. FH and his parents will be riding with the GM in the party bus to the church. The party bus will then come to my house to pick up my BM and my mom. My father and I will be in the Phantom to go to the church.

After the mass, everyone except FH and I will be on the party bus to go to OW Gardens for pictures. We will ride with everyone on the party bus from there to the reception.

My FH niece had her Mom ride in the Limo with her to the church. Dad was already there using his own car. Mom and Dad took their car to the reception, met everyone there.
This is kinda what we are doing too. Besides we don't have the money for the guys to ride in the Limo and the parents, nor do we have the money for a second limo or upgrade to accommodate the bridal party and the folks. Good thing is they all understand this and are ok with it.
Do what works best for you. Good Luck.

We have a limo going to FH's parents house where all the guys are getting ready. FH's parents will be in the limo with the guys. My mother will be in a limo with all the girls. FH and I have an antique car to take us from the church to reception. We also have a limo for the end of the night to take our parents and siblings back home.

we got a limo for the bridal party and my dad and I, but the parents drive themselves lol... typically, after the church the bridal party goes in the limo to take pictures together while the parents stay back and host people in their homes during the break in between.

My mom is having little snacks at the house for anyone who wants to hangout in between the church and the ceremony. Most people will probably go to the hotel though- Then, my parents and my FH's parents will meet us at the reception 45 mins early to take some family shots before cocktail hour

Re: Wedding day transportation

Today, almost anything goes, however, most brides and grooms today choose for the MOB to ride with the bridesmaids and the grooms parents to ride with the groom and groomsmen to the church. From there both sets of parents either take arranged transportation or ride in the limo bus or vehicle with the bridal party. If budget is not an issue, often times a limousine arrives to take both sets of parents together (even if there is a divorce situation, people tend to 'get along' on the big day)on to the reception. Congratulations!
