Re: wedding dress
At first, I limited myself to only one style, but once I began trying on different dresses, I got a much better idea of what worked on my body. My advice is to try on a few of every style-- ballgown, a-line, mermaid, etc-- and see how you feel and look in them. You'll find something perfect, just keep an open mind. Also look online and through magazines to see what styles and designers appeal to you.

Re: wedding dress
yeah i would say just go someplace & rummage through the racks.... RK Bridal in manhattan is a great place to go and do that!! they let us look through all the dresses & pick what i liked... david's bridal was NOT like this AT ALL!!!! they made me look through a magazine and then tell someone what i liked from the pictures!!
once you start seeing & trying on styles you like, things are going to get clearer for you!!
good luck!

Re: wedding dress
I thought I knew what I wanted. the best thing that one of the bridal stores did for me was that they just kept pulling out different dresses for me to try on that they thought went with my body type. On the hanger they dont look as nice. I was surprised that I liked certain dresses once they were on.

i have no clue what kind of dress I want...
dont worry, theres people who do THINK they know exactly what they want and once they try on dresses its a completely different story. Its actually better off, just go to bridal stores and try on different styles, see which flatters you best and which you love best
good luck

Re: wedding dress
pick up some bridal magazines - they will deff give you ideas of styles that are out there! Surf the net also! Once you get going, there is no stopping you

Re: wedding dress
It doesn't matter if you think you know what you want, most girls who think they know what they want get something the total opposite. I still think about my dress and think it was something that I would never pick if I just saw a picture...

Re: wedding dress
Look at diff designers....styles...then go to stores who sell the designers you like best.
When I went., I told them the style I wanted and they brought out the same style from diff designers.

Re: wedding dress
My advice: Go to a bridal shop and ask to try on one a-line, one mermaid, one full, one princess, one straight...also ask to try on a strapless, halter, spaghetti strap, cap sleeve and tank top..then ask for one in white and one in ivory. You'll instantly know which style you like. Hope that helps.
