I need some recommendations... Where can I have a wedding dress altered and trust that they will not mess it up and not cost me my second born?

most places wont do it unless you purchased the dress there

I dont know where your located but try Angel Bridal in East Islip. Rosemary and Vicki(owners) are wonderful and their alterations lady is great. There number is 581-3330. HTH!

I've heard really amazing things about Ricos in Center Moriches and Alterations Unlimited by Gina. I haven't set up any appointments to consult on my dress alterations but those two are at the top of my list. Hope this helps!

I know believe Kleinfelds will do it but it will cost a flat rate of 695.

Definitely try Alterations by Gina. My best friend had her alterations done there for a sample dress that needed a lot of work. All of us bridesmaids also went there and everything came out perfect. I'm also going to her for my bridal gown once it comes in. You definitely won't be disappointed
