Wedding Dress Alterations

Wedding Dress Alterations

I feel like alterations at wedding salons are so overpriced and would like to find an independent seamstress that could do the work for a cheaper price.

Did anyone get their wedding dress altered at a place other than where you bought your dress? If so, who did you use?

I have an amazing seamstress but unfortunately she's in Brooklyn.

I used a great seamstress. She's located in Nassau - Valley Stream. If anyone is interested I can FM you her info. She does great work and is very reasonable in price.

Try Rosie's tailoring in Centereach. I had several dresses altered there (not my wedding dress though)and my MIL had her dress for the wedding altered there and her's was very detailed. She was very happy with what Rosie did. She really seems to know her stuff.

Here's the website if it helps

From these recommendations I went to Rosie's for a wedding I'm in on Friday. Rosie sold the shop to new people. They were good, but we did have an issue where they measured me to take the dress in and when I went back for a follow up fitting they had taken it in too much and it couldn't even be zipped. They fixed it and were very apologetic about it. They are super sweet and did a great job in the end, but I was worried that day.

Rosie has stayed on to do wedding dresses only, but you need to make an appointment. I heard she's great, but call in advance to make an appointment to see her personally.

Can you FM her info? I am getting my dress in BK and would love a great seamstress that does really good work! The store i'm thinking of getting my dress at is charging around $300 and it's a woman outsourced on Benson Ave.
