Wedding Dress Designers

I found the dress of my dreams yesterday in Patchogue, but when I asked who the designer was she told that I would have to call her tomorrow, and when I asked again later on she told they sometimes do not know until the gowns come in. I want to order it from Bridal Suite in Centereach, but I have no idea who made it.. when i pressured them, she said it looks like a casablanca or a jasmine.

Has anyone else had this happen to them. I was able to sneak in a picture, but it is not great..

I just do not trust a place that is not upfront and honest.

I think I got lucky - I knew my dress was a Demetrios - Macy's was very open about the designer and the style #.

Unfortunately I think it's common practice for a lot of the shops to pull tags out. They don't want you falling in love with a dress getting all the info and then going someplace else to find it cheaper.

Daisy - do not go with that store if they won't tell you the designer's name. they are FULL of it. They absolutely have to know the name of the designer to order their dresses. Somebody knows, and obviously they are not telling you for a reason. and that is a bad reason, one designed to trick you, so don't fall for it. also, i assume that they ripped the tag out as well (illegal - unless they label them with their own label properly so that the salespeople can tell the manufacturer, make ad material) (see there is a law to protect you). If you went to the Bridal Suite in Patchogue, there have been other warnings about that store on this site! please don't go back there

take your picture and go to the Centereach Bridal Suite. they will help you. plus, you can look on the internet (try theknot or weddingchannel) and browse through wedding dresses to see if you can find the dress. Good luck!!

These bridal salons think that brides are so stupid- how can they not know who the manufacturer of the dress is until the dress comes in- who are they ordering it from. Go back and try it on again and look for hints such as a name on the strings that hang it on the dress or maybe something written on the tag.

I have a rule...Never trust if they can't tell. Sometimes they could be passing a copy off as an original, while charging you the higher price. I went to a few places and everywhere I went they always told me who the designer was. They would even say that they don't carry that particular designer but they have a few that look the same.
Honesty is the best seller, espically for something so important.

I would definitely NOT purchase my gown from a salon that won't tell you who the designer is..

I have never heard of a store not knowing who it is. Sometimes they won't tell because they don't want you to go somewhere else to get it. Could you sneak a camera into the dressing room and take a pic?

i did sneak a picture in.. I found an almost identical dress in the latest edition of Brides magazine..That dress was a moonlight coutoure....does anyone know what they generally run in cost?

Thats bull****! With bridesmaids dresses you can see the designer usually when you look at color swatches . I don't know if there are swatches for the ivory versus white, but you might try that.

How do you know if the dress is worth the money without knowing the designer? Would you buy a car and not know which company made it- of course not. Run away from that store quick. Go to Bridal Suite of Centereach, ask for Debi or Amy. Describe the dress exactly. I bet they can help you figure it out.

Moonlight dresses aren't that expensive. I got mine from a shop in Brooklyn called Lestan's. They were so nice there! I brought in a pic of the dress, and every girl in the shop was looking for the sample, since it wasn't in the right place.

I called Patchogue Bridal Suite...they told me it was from a distributor and she has her own style #'s...


Well I went on line and found almost the exact dress.....

Macy's knew I liked Maggie Sottero styles and showed me all of her collection that they had there.

I totally agree with the girls. There was a location that I went to to have all of my bridesmaids try on a gown, and the people there all got so snippy with me. Hey, here's my opinion - if they wanted my business in the first place, then they wouldn't have been so uppity about themselves when I initially went in there

I have't had a problem with Patchouge Bridal Suite and have used them for the past 5 years for various things, but I agree if they told me they couldn't tell me the designer and style, I would not trust them, my bridesmaid dress are from there and I didn't see anything without a tag in them, but I did not look at brides gowns there. I am sure you will find it somewhere else if you have the picture and scan the internet sites, then you can see too the designer. Please let us know what happens.

I checked with Better Business Bureu (sp?) on bridal suite in patchogue and they had a few complaints. I also checked Centereach and I believe they had 1 complaint in 36 months...
