Wedding Dress Dilema... What to do w/it after the wedding ....
What are you guys doing with your wedding dresses after the wedding?
Does anyone know of a place to preserve it in Queens or Nassau LI?

I had it preserved by wedclean, you should do a search on newlyweds, I know they've been used by a lot of girls on here all with different experiences.
p..s I had a good experience and the price was right for me

I am hoping to have mine made into the basinet (sp?) for our baby - I don't think my kids will want to wear my old dress..

i just signed up for wedclean. you prepay online and they ship you box. you put it in the box, slap on the label and drop it off at a UPS and should get it back in few weeks all preserved and perfect. you can mark any spots on your dress with orange stickers-just like they do at the drycleaners and include special instructions if you have any.
ETA: I'm preserving it so it won't yellow or anything, but I think i'm going to make christening gowns from it.

I am having mine made into a baptismal gown for our future children. I will never use it again, my kids will never use it... so I figured this is a way I can use it and then pass it onto my children to use for our first grandchild.

We're not planning on having kids, and we have an heirloom christening gown in the family in case we do, so I am going to donate it to one of the charities.

In less my kids want to wear it or a FDIL I don't think I will be able to part with it until a granddaughter came along for a baptism dress.

I'm saving it, and then having it made into a Christening outfit for my first child.

Most dry cleaners offer a wedding preservation service. If you don't want to keep it, Bridal Garden in Manhattan is a shop that takes donation gowns and sells them. They use the money for a charity for battered women and children.

I plan on letting my nieces/future children play in it. My Mom did that and my sister and I had the best time and got great use out of it!
