Wedding dress dilemma

I am tall and slim and I always wanted a mermaid dress!! After ordering my dress I loved it. But my fh says 'you are not having a traditional puffy dress that is how I picture my future wife to be. I was so hurt and I see so many brides with the traditional style dress. I don't know what to do. attached is the photo of my dress.

Your dress is gorgeous! You are going to look like a knockout, don't worry about your dress not being a ballgown.. FH's don't know what they are talking about

That's too bad, I'm sure he will change his mind when he sees you walking down the asile in your gown. You have to get what makes you feel beautiful, I'm sure he will think you are a gorgeous bride in that dress

Has he seen the dress, or did you just tell him about it?

Aww I am sorry to hear that, he will love you when he sees you in the dress you ordered. Don't second guess it at all. It will blow his mind.

awww sweetie, i'm so sorry!! this dress is gorgeous, he won't believe his eyes when he sees you walking down that aisle! i'm wearing a mermaid too!! and i know a bunch of other girls are too!!

ignore him. honestly you have to be happy with the dress not him or anyone else. Fh saw a dress once and goes oh that is kinda cool and it was something that i would of rather gone naked then wear. So who knows what he will think of my dress and honeslty i rather be happy and comfty in it since i have to live with it not him IoI

Your dress is beautiful !
YOU have to be comfortable in the dress.

If FH wants a puffy ballgown type dress, then he can wear one.

My advice is to ignore him. He doesn't know what he's talking about. When he sees you in that gorgeous dress, his jaw will drop and any thoughts of big and poofy will be gone. He'll have sexy and stunning instead.

My FH pointed to a dress similar to mine in a bridal magazine and said it was ugly. I know I don't look ugly in the dress and it's gorgeous and I have no doubt he's going to love it when he sees it on me either!

ok so here's a little story for you:
me and my DH went to a wedding before ours. He was saying how the bride looked funny to him bc he always envisions a bride in a big huge elaborate dress...
i had the total opposite- a sihouette shaped lace dress.

when he saw me he was *almost* in tears
then i asked him in the limo if he was disappointed that its not big and poofy. he said its the most beautiful dress hes ever seen and he would not have wanted me any other way despite what he USED to envision his bride in...

soooooo- i hope that puts in into perspective for u. if you wore a potato sack he STILL would marry u and worship you

his opinion will change the moment he sees you at the end of the aisle. don't worry about it, really. he is going to love your dress b/c you are in it!

I agree with what others have said- men know nothing about fashion- when he sees how beautiful you are, he won't be wondering, why didn't she wear a puffy dress?

Honestly men rarely knows what they want. DH wasn't happy that I was getting and ivory dress. He said I was suppose to where white. I truly believe if I hadn't said anything he wouldn't realize that is wasn't white. Remember men only know what they have seen. Once he sees you in that dress, he will love mermaid dresses and think all brides should wear them.

i think the gown is gorgeous, i love your mermaid gown, beautiful. your fh is going be amazed and beautiful in how you look in this dress.dont worry ,it going to be ok, i hope he hasnt seen this dress yet?

I almost bought that same exact dress. Its a demetrios. It's hott!! You are going to look gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!

My first thought is did you pick his tux? IF so then maybe I would take it into consideration, but he also really should have mentioned this to you when you ordered this dress. If you love the dress keep it, no dilema jst a hicup!

my fh told me he doesnt want me to get my makeup done because he doesnt want me to look like I am plastic....hahaha....tough s*#@ I said! lol

Your dress is beautiful and believe me he'll love it. I dont have a traditional ball gown dress either . I think your wedding dress should be an expression on your typical style!
