Hi girls!! It just recently hit me that I'm about 8 months out and still have a lot to do. I was wondering, those of you that have already gotten your dresses and BM dresses - how long does it ACTUALLY take to get them? I've heard 9-10 months and that just seems ridiculous to me. Should I be stressing that I haven't even started looking yet for myself or my BM? Ah!!
Also, if anyone has someone they could recommend to me for hair in the Nassau/Queens area, I would very much appreciate it!!!
Thank you!!!

Re: Wedding Dress & Hair
Hey! I just picked out my bridesmaid dressed- my FSIL ordered hers and it took 2 weeks to come in. I would definitely start looking at dresses but don't stress if you haven't bought them yet. Give yourself to the 6 month mark to buy them.

I was told by my salon that it would take 8 months for my wedding dress to come in and it came in after 4 months. They told my girls that it would take 5 months for the bridesmaid dresses to come in and we're still waiting for them, the four month mark will be early August so I'm not stressing that yet. You still have time but I would pick at your dress first.
As for hair, I'm booked with Angela's Hair Design and she was great.

Re: Wedding Dress & Hair
My wedding dress took just about 1 month to come in and my BM dresses were as short as a week!
My gown I ordered in March and it arrived in May. BMs will be ordering their gowns shortly. Both will be going to DB, ordering the same color, but different styles. Not sure on the time frame for those, but if it's 3 months, we still have time for alterations if necessary. I have time to add a couple more BMs as FH can't stop asking friends to be groomsmen. Jackass!
I haven't figured out hair yet. I know I need to find someone soon that's available on my date.

I ordered my gown in March and they said it will 6-8 months to come in, so November the latest. It depends on the designer though. I wouldn't wait past 6 months to get your dress if you can help it, otherwise you might end up cutting it close. I'm having my bridesmaid's order their dresses by the end of this month, I was told they'll take about 4 months to come in. As for hair I'm also using Angela's Hair Design, she's wonderful.

I haven't thought about hair yet. I see that Angela's Hair Design is pretty reasonable in price. Where is she located? Would I have to pay a travel fee for her to come to Howard Beach for the day of?

I think there's a range for traveling based on how far if you have to pay. I only looked at the site quickly because she told me shes not available for my wedding.

She's located in East Meadown and with regards to travel it says on her website 'Travel fee will apply if the travel is more then 30miles, going over bridges etc.'

I ordered my gown in march and it's not coming in until a month before the wedding... Eek. I should have lied about my wedding date. Anyway as far as timing it totally depends on where you go and what you get. But I woul definitely start looking as soon as you get time.

I think you still have time to shop for BM dresses, but you should probably get to it as soon as you have time, to avoid any stress

Ordered my wedding dressing from David's Bridal and it came in like 2 weeks later! Got the girls BM dresses from Bridal Suite in Bay Shore and it took about 3 months

Thanks. I gave her a call and left a message. Hopefully she's available for my wedding date.
