wedding dress question: your style vs. FI's style

i found my gown and i absolutely LOVE it.

i haven't told him yet that i found it but lately i've been asking him what kind of style he wants of a wedding gown for me. i have a couple of bridal mags at home and he wants a style that is different from what i picked!

do i have to change my beloved gown???

i know FH and he'll like the one i'll be wearing... but i just feel like i also want to please him as well!

ahhh... what should i do?

no you DON'T have to change your gown!!!! FH will NOT be thinking about what style he prefers when he sees you on your wedding day!! get what you feel beautiful in, and he will LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

omg thank you so much for bring up this question!

my FH has been trying to desperately to hack into my email to see photos of the gowns im trying on... I want mermaid/fit n flare and he wants me to wear a big poofy princess gown.

I keep telling myself that on the day of the wedding the lastttt thing hes going to be thinking about is the dress...once he sees YOU In the dress and how beautiful you look in it thats all he will see!

good to know im not the only one dealing with this...p.s. i also did the same thing you did, i showed him magazine shots of dresses- i even went as far as showing him pics of me in dresses that were absolute 'NOs'(i blocked my head/face when i showed him the pic) it's nerve wrecking and upsetting cause you want him to be pleased with the dress and the way you look too!

but bottom line...DONT change the dress...get what you feel beautiful in and what you feel comfortable in...remember they are boys and they know nothing about dresses and style!

i racked my brains over this too. FH loves poofy and i do not. the more i showed him dresses (like when we went to photog appointments and we saw past brides), the more i realized how critical and picky he was. definately scared me, because i want to make him happy cuz its his wedding too

but i just dont want poofy. although, his opinion did influence my search. i probably would have gotten an even slimmer/tight dress if he didnt say anything at all.

i have already warned him that he wont be happy...so hopefully if he has low expectations he will be blown away when the DAY comes

Don't change your dress based on what he wants. He's going to love the way you look, no matter what. You know what looks best on you and as long as you feel beautiful, you'll look beautiful.

I saw a trumpet gown that looked great on me, it made everyone in the bridal store turn their heads...it just wasn't 'me'. It was a little sexy and it's not the way I normally dress. I ended up going a-line (which also what happens to be what he pictures me in just b/c he knows my taste). I just felt more comfortable.

In the end, you have to feel beautiful and comfortable. He's going to love it no matter what. When he sees you, he's going to emotional and think you look beautiful. I highly doubt he's going to think 'Ugh, what's up with her dress?'.

don't change your gown. I'm sure he will love what you already picked and it will be breathtaking... The way a bride feels about her dress is contagious, once he sees you in the dress he'll feel the same way you feel about your dress.
