Re: Wedding dress shopping
There is no rule. You can take anyone you want. I went with 2 of my bm's since my mom and sister live out of state. Word of advice: Keep it simple. Don't bring too many people. Too many people = too many opinions LOL

I'm going next week. I'm taking sister (MOH), mom, and grandma. No other bridesmaids. I really want it to be as easy as possible.

ITA! I only went with my mother and even that was very stressful. We were on two totally different wavelengths. It was a bit of torture. She wanted tons and tons of bling, princessy and i wanted simple lace/lots of coverage I guess very simple/conservative. she hates lace even though her own dress was head to toe lace!!! go figure...
I don't think my ego could handle a bunch of girls critiquing the dress I wanted, plus it might be a waste of time and second guessing if someone tries to convince you of something you don't want.

There are no rules!!! I went a few times with different people. I went with my fmil and fsil whos also a bridesmaid, I went with my sister whos the moh and went with my mom. I didn't blend our two families but I tried to include all sides in the process. My mom got mad that I showed his family my dress because it wasn't a surprise and she felt betrayed but I say do what you feel is right.

I know there are no rules, i just know my Moh definitely wants to go and i already know her vision for me will be nothing like the vision i have for myself. O just feel guilty that i don't want them as part of the process lol but since u guys don't include em either i guess. Its normal!

Re: Wedding dress shopping
Maybe include them when you picked the dress? Or have a decision between two or three dresses? Its not bad to get different perspectives but follow you heart and your vision.

Re: Wedding dress shopping
I had an entourage! lol.
It was: my mama best friend (BM) My sister in law (BM) my aunt FMIL my 2 little cousins (they're 19)
We had a lot of fun though. And my family was very well behaved and gave good opinions. Plus I am very easy going so we had lots of fun. My little cousins were even trying on dresses. Like I said, it didn't bother me at all and I actually encouraged it lol. My poor aunt was like 'get those dresses off, this is your cousins day'. I was like ' try more on this is fun' lol
So I guess it just depends on the people. I think it would be nice for just you and your mom to go. There is not set rule so it is completely up to you!!! But just remember to enjoy it, its supposed to be fun!!

Re: Wedding dress shopping
I went with FH..yeah, yeah I know the rules but we don't have any rules. I knew he would forget the dress anyway but he knows me best. He went with me for both dresses but he honestly tells me he cant remember either dress and I know he would forget. All men do untilt he big day. My mom loves everything and so do my MOH's. I mean everything. I could try on a scan and they think its beautiful. LOL
