Wedding Dress Shopping review
Hi girls I went shopping all day yesterday and yes I found my dress! I wrote a long review and hope it is helpful. If you have any questions send me FM.
Macy's Demetrios (I went in Nov)- I can't recall who I worked with, but she was very nice and really listened. I loved a dress that was exclusive to Macy's. They had a large variety.
Lillettes Bridal in Bellmore- I loved everything about Lillettes. I worked with Pat and she was very nice and helpful. I never felt rushed and I really enjoyed my appointment. Lillettes also has lots of Maggy Dresses (you girls seem to love them!).
Kleinfeld - I saw them filming 'Say Yes to the Dress' and I got to meet Randy! That was the only thing I liked about Kleinfelds. I felt like I was another number and not a bride. My three BM's and mom came into a small room with me as I tried on dresses. I was not impressed at all and felt that everything was over priced. I have mixed feelings about the woman I worked with. At first she made me feel like my budget was to low and even made a comment about my ring basically saying I should have a higher dress budget, but by the end she got nicer saying she could give me a person outside of kleinfelds to do the alterations for half the price. Overall if anyone asked me I would tell them not to go to kleinfelds.
Davids Bridal- To be 100% honest I only went here to kill time, but I was very impressed with the wedding gowns and BM's dresses. Some of these dresses looked just like ones I had on in Kleinfelds, but for a fraction of the cost.
Bridal Garden - I loved the idea of this store all the gowns are donated samples or used. If you purchase a dress here the proceeds go to charity.
Bridal gardens is 100% no frills. The women who was working at the time was very rude and didn't help at all. You pull your own gowns and put them on yourself and have to put them back. My BM's and I had fun here b/c I ended up putting some crazy things on. Some dresses are missing zippers and very old looking, but others are new or samples. This is a a very hit or miss place and you have to be ready to search. I did see two girls getting fittings and both of them had amazing gowns. I guess they came on the right day.
Pronovias - This was the last place I went and the best! I am in love with Pronovias. When you walk into the store it looks like you are going to have spend a crazy amount of money, but you can get a dress for under $2,000 (or the one in the window for $42,000!) .They have a large range of prices. Everything about Pronovias is wonderful. The area you try on dresses is so nice (nicer then Kleinfelds). My BM's and mother and I enjoyed Champagne as I tried on one amazing dress after the next. I worked with Kate and she was the best. She really listened to everything I said and was about making me happy. I put on my dress and knew it was the one. I didn't believe it would happen to me, but it did I even cried! I got an extra 12.5% off for buying my dress at my first appointment! If you are still looking for gown go to Pronovias!
