Hi ladies, I received an email today from David's Bridal that my dress is ready for pick up. When I ordered it I was told it would be here by July but it came extra early. And my wedding is in a little over a year. To those ladies who already have their dresses what are you doing to store and protect your wedding dress?
TIA!

Re: Wedding dress storage
David's Bridal did that to me too - they said it would be here in May, and then 2 weeks later in March it came in.
I spent $10 at DB to get the garment bag (yep, they charge you extra for that), and then I immediately took it to my in-laws and stored it safely (knock on wood) in a closet. I didn't trust it at our house, because we have a young dog and I don't trust that our closets are that clean (previous renter was a cat lady).

Re: Wedding dress storage
Thanks. I plan on getting a storage closet to keep it in as well as the garment bag.

Re: Wedding dress storage
i bought my dress a year and a half in advance. i bought an acid free storage box to fold it in along with acid free tissue paper. i was worried about having it hung up for so long. we take it out every now and then to refold and air it out. its a pain, but its worth it.
