Wedding evites

My friend just sent me an evite as her wedding invitation. I never really thought about doing this. Is anyone else doing a wedding evite?

Wedding evites - Long Island Weddings

I've never received a wedding evite personally, but I have gotten an invitation from my cousin in Canada, and her rsvp card had a link to checkin. It was a very nicely done professional website, and you had to find your name on their guess list and hit check, and add if you and or guest are coming.

I wouldn't mind getting a wedding evite, since I know everyone has to find ways to save money, but I'm not very traditional. I don't know how other guests might feel about this.

i am 100% against this. emails get discarded so quickly & they are so impersonal. No offense to your friend but I find that very tacky & would be turned off. You can easily buy cheaper invites online. You don't need to spend $2000 on invitations but but by email? I don't think you could get any cheaper/impersonal

^^ Completely agree. A wedding is a formal event and an evite completely takes away from that.

So tacky. I usually delete emails before I even read them. If your friend is spending money on a wedding, she should spend money on an invite.

I've been invited to rehearsal dinners via evite & I don't think it's tacky one bit. I don't think that I would do it as a wedding invite but people have to do what they can afford..
