Wedding evites
My friend just sent me an evite as her wedding invitation. I never really thought about doing this. Is anyone else doing a wedding evite?

I've never received a wedding evite personally, but I have gotten an invitation from my cousin in Canada, and her rsvp card had a link to checkin. It was a very nicely done professional website, and you had to find your name on their guess list and hit check, and add if you and or guest are coming.I wouldn't mind getting a wedding evite, since I know everyone has to find ways to save money, but I'm not very traditional. I don't know how other guests might feel about this.

i am 100% against this. emails get discarded so quickly & they are so impersonal. No offense to your friend but I find that very tacky & would be turned off. You can easily buy cheaper invites online. You don't need to spend $2000 on invitations but but by email? I don't think you could get any cheaper/impersonaledited:spelling

^^ Completely agree. A wedding is a formal event and an evite completely takes away from that.

So tacky. I usually delete emails before I even read them. If your friend is spending money on a wedding, she should spend money on an invite.

I've been invited to rehearsal dinners via evite & I don't think it's tacky one bit. I don't think that I would do it as a wedding invite but people have to do what they can afford..
