Wedding facilites

I'm looking for a place to host my wedding and reception where I can use my own caterer (preferable in Suffolk County). My fiance and I originally wanted to get married at Planting Fields Arboretum but the Hay Barn is closing for renovations. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Please help---we're going crazy with this! Thanks!!

I don't really know of a particular site, but I have a few websites that are great for locating such facilities by either location (i.e., Suffolk County) or by type (hotel, hall, vineyard, etc.). One site even offers price ranges and sample menus. Hope they help, I know they helped me tons!! www.banqueteer.com www.dininglongisland.com/cater.htm www.weddingfacilitiesandservices.com www.locationsmagazines.com

Hi! Have you considered any of the North Fork vineyards? Newsday's Fun Book lists them all at http://cf.newsday.com/funbook/funbookresults2.cfm?subcat=Wineries. Not sure if this is too far out on the island for you...but some look spectacular! Good luck!!

Try the Shoreham Country Club... A very nice building on the bluff, I don''''t know if you have to live in Shoreham though.

I am opting for the same thing. I booked june 22nd 02 at the Vanderbilt Estate in Centerport but I looked all over the island for the perfect location including the Hay Barn. You should look into The Frick Estate (the Nassau Cty Museum of Art),Pellegrini Vineyards (if you have a small guest list), The Vanderbilt Estate on Dowling's Campus, Coindre Hall in Huntington. I think I checked out every historic house on Long Island. If you need help, let me know
