Wedding fashion......?

Hi ladies,

This is curious. It seems like all of the stuff I like is out of fashion, or 'no one does that anymore'. I have heard this a lot over the past year. WTH?

Yesterday, the people at the Tux place told us 'no one does cummerbunds anymore'. But we want them. This is disconcerting, because people are already disapproving of things we haven't even bought yet.

And my dress. It has pick-ups. A lot of them. And they are highlighted by embroidery and sequins. But a lot of ladies here are always writing about how pick-ups are too much, or whatever.

So, either my wedding is sooo 2005, or what?

Just wondering.

I'm a firm believer in 'who cares if it's in style'.

It's your wedding, do not feel discouraged by people who think what you're doing is outdated because it's what YOU want and you shouldn't have to settle for anything less then that.

Ignore them and do what you will.

It's your wedding, your way... don't let anyone deter you from doing what you want...

PS.. I wore pick ups in my dress and looked fabulous!!! So There!!!

I don't think so at all. It is your day!! Do what you have been dreaming of!

It's your wedding...you should be wearing what you want! Whatever makes you happy!
If you love what you're wearing everyone else will as well!!!!

are cummerbunds - the belt kinda things??? above the pants?
well if thats what they are then my FH wanted them also, and the tux place said oh those aren't in style anymore....
OK since when? And my dress has pickups also - with embroidery
HAHA so who cares!!!

You have to remember that everyone has an opinion and is always ready to give it to you if you want it or not.

You need to plan your wedding for you and your FH. If others aren't happy with what you are doing then that is there problem.

Just keep telling your self that this is day is about you and your FH.

My dress has pick ups also....as for the tuxes...if you went to any rich black tie function the men would be in cumberbuns....yes the vests are trendy and more 'in' now but personally if i had it my way my FH would be wearing one. He agreed to wear the bow tie but wants a vest...so that's fine. It's your day and you should do it however you want. As for the dress...I think pick ups make you look like a princess!

Dresses are still coming out with pick-ups!
But I know what you mean. I told my boss I liked wedding dresses with a colored sash and she wrinkled her nose. Apparantly she thought it was sooooo last year. Whatever! Wear what you like and what makes you feel beautiful.
